IBM SPSS Statistics 19 Made Simple

Book Review: IBM SPSS Statistics 19 Made Simple

As someone who has always felt intimidated by the world of statistics, I was pleasantly surprised by IBM SPSS Statistics 19 Made Simple. Authors Colin D. Gray and Paul R. Kinnear have created a comprehensive guide for beginners that breaks down complex concepts into digestible pieces.

One thing I really appreciated about this book was the clear and concise writing style. The authors do an excellent job of explaining each step in a way that is easy to understand and follow, even without prior knowledge of statistics. The numerous examples provided throughout the book also helped me to better grasp each concept.

Another aspect that stood out to me was the inclusion of practical exercises at the end of each chapter. These exercises allowed me to apply what I had just learned in a real-world setting, helping to solidify my understanding of the material.

Overall, IBM SPSS Statistics 19 Made Simple is an excellent resource for anyone looking to learn about statistics for the first time or for those who need a refresher. While it may not be suitable for more advanced users, it provides a strong foundation upon which students or professionals can build their statistical knowledge.

One potential critique I have is that at times, the book can feel overwhelming due to its length and dense content. However, this is likely unavoidable given the complexity of the subject matter, and ultimately does not detract from its value as an educational tool.

All in all, I highly recommend IBM SPSS Statistics 19 Made Simple to anyone seeking to gain a better understanding of statistics in an accessible and practical way.
